People Without Labels (PWL) is a charity that supports people to flourish and realise their full potential. We are the team behind The Space made up of the volunteers who have renovated the building for the past 2 years and aim to create a space for people to galvanise positive social change. We will focus on helping individuals who suffer from social isolation . We aim to reclaim and restore space, and restore belief in opportunity and potential through creative expression, interaction and empowerment. We plan to build links, facilitate and advocate for those most isolated in the wider community so they can have a voice and a role in deciding what arts activities and services we aim to provide. We hope to ensure activities are accessible not just physically but financially and democratically. Also, we will provide a voice, a language and more importantly the space and tools for a community to be able to enact and empower itself.
People Without Labels
Every Saturday at OTC Concrete Gardens run a swap shop. That is an entire clothes shop where you don’t have to pay any money whatsoever.
Everything is for exchange and you do not have to have something there at the time. The transaction is based on honesty. Take something you like and bring something back when you can so someone else can have the same opportunity as you.
We intercept and redistribute food that would have otherwise been wasted. We cook and serve healthy meals on a pay as you feel basis, bringing people together for food, music, games, workshops and much more. ‘Nae Such Thing’ is ran on a three tier donation model, empowering everyone to feel welcome and contribute back in some way
We opened for 4 days a week from 1st June thanks to funding support from Keep Scotland Beautiful which will extend to 6 days a week later in the year.
