We work 24 hours, 7 days a week with people in housing crisis or who are facing sleeping rough, to advise, support and refer with the aim of enabling a life off the streets. The Crisis Service provides crisis support for people in need of accommodation. However it’s often more than a bed that a person needs and ongoing support and follow up is vital to maintain a life off the streets. Our Crisis Service is round the clock but we understand that for some people going to a building can be difficult. For this reason, we do street based outreach every day, walking the streets to find people most in need of help and support.
It is one of the world's most stunning cities - but away from the grand architecture and smart streets, the homeless have a different perspective of Edinburgh. And for those who want to share it, the Green Frog walk offers a view of the city well away from the tourist trail. The walk is run by homeless charity Streetwork, who take politicians, social care workers and donors on the alternative tour of the capital.
Streetyouth provides street based outreach and one to one follow up support, strengthening networks, relationships and resilience for young people in Edinburgh up to 25 years of age. Our project aims to break the revolving door of crisis and chaos for our most vulnerable young people. We don’t wait for people to come to us, we go to them, on the streets, in local communities and work with people at their pace, on their terms and in their space to help them achieve lasting change.
