YWCA Metro Vancouver

Since its inception in 1897, YWCA Metro Vancouver has worked tirelessly to achieve women's equality. Today, we are one of Metro Vancouver's largest and most diversified non-profit organizations. Our holistic, integrated programs and services help lift women and families out of poverty, provide the best start for children and create new opportunities for education, employment and leadership. The women who live in YWCA Crabtree Housing participate in a weekly arts and crafts night, and YWCA Munroe House offers a program called Children Who Witness Abuse, which uses art therapy, group and individual counselling sessions, positive play, music and community involvement to help children develop coping skills to manage, process and recover from their abusive experiences. We are also hoping to offer arts programs at a new housing community, YWCA Cause We Care House, which is scheduled to open this fall.
